Africare update
hi all... just a quick update to let you know that i just submitted our $1500 life membership gift to Africare via their website. the site said that it may take up to 30 days to process and respond to our gift, but i will let you know as soon as i hear back from them.
that leaves $55 of our money still to be donated to yai/nipd. unfortunately, there is still one person out there who hasn't paid up yet... so the donation is on hold.
this person emailed me on the 14th, saying that she'd send me the money over the weekend. i assumed that she meant the weekend of the 16th, but now i'm not so sure, as it's already the 26th, and i've yet to receive anything!
i expect that this person will come through on her pledge soon, or at the very least, write me another email letting me know what's up.
anyway, on a more positive note, congrats everyone on a job well done for Africare! hopefully we'll hear back from them soon.

phew, I'm glad I didn't get an interview with Skadden. I have to move that day.
does anyone else completely hate this weird one-by-one system of OCI bids?
it's taking up a huge amount of my time.
i'm batting 1 for 20 on the OCI bids. not too good. i may have to take some practice swings in the minors for a few weeks
For anyone who is going to be an orientation counselor PAD is buying beer afterwards at O'Keefes for counselors and their groups.

what is PAD?
Phi Alpha Delta the legal fraternity. Its not like animal house or anything. Its more about networking events and community service etc. But beer IS plentiful as well I guess.
re: PAD, awesome! do you mean between the classroom meetings and the awful, boring convocation, or after the reception on the law school plaza?
Free beer is after the reception.
If I remember correctly there was not much time between the classroom meeting and the awful boring convocation.
Free beer will be after the reception in the courtyard.
There will be some alumni there as well.
last year my counselor bought our group drinks, before the ceremony. Is that what you're talking about?
